Former University of Miami Player Involved in Horrible Automobile Crash on I-395
JoJo Nicolas, a former University of Miami football player was involved in a very serious automobile accident when the Lexus sedan he was driving crashed into the back of an 18 wheeler as he was traveling westbound on I-395 outside of Miami Beach, Florida. Sadly, many people have found it necessary to speculate as to what the cause of this horrible accident was, and even his condition, without having any facts. I think to do so while someone’s child is laying in a hospital bed, is just wrong.
JoJo is a local Miami-Dade athlete who was an outstanding safety for UM from 2007 thru 2011. He has also played in the NFL briefly for the New York Giants.
But right now the only thing that is important is that this young man is in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center and is fighting for his life (despite the numerous inaccurate reports to the contrary). Both his family and the University of Miami Football family have asked everyone to pray for JoJo. As a graduate and fan of everything involving the University of Miami I think that’s the least we can do for JoJo. We should all pray harder and cheer louder than we did while he was on the field. That was just a game. This is the young man’s life.
I’m cheering for you louder than ever JoJo. Get well soon.
